I’ve Been Remiss….

My apologies to all whom visit and depend upon these posts….it seems all I’ve been able to manage are the Facebook posts these last two weeks as the Holidays have been hectic.  Not to mention my new “Nana duties” 🙂  I promise to get things moving again soon, so don’t leave…I’ll be back! Hope everyone has been enjoying the Yuletide season and has a wonderful, safe, happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!  Blessed be!

The Crystal of the Day Sunday 8 December 2013

Image

The Crystal of the Day Sunday 8 December 2013 is Ruby as it corresponds with the Sun.  The ruby is considered to be the most powerful gem in the universe, and is associated with many astral signs. To own a ruby is said to have contentment and peace. Placed under a pillow the ruby may ward off bad dreams. Ruby rings should be worn on the left hand so as to receive the life force and have protection. Given as a gift, the ruby is a symbol of friendship and love. The ruby is also the symbol of vitality and royalty.

The Ruby is filled with love. It also helps sexual love to be more passionate. Persons lacking in self-love should have and mediate on the Ruby. It also gives the courage to be best potential that a person has.

Ruby works with the flow of blood as an aid to circulation. It aids the cleansing and removal of infection or germs in the blood. The Ruby may be worn in jewelry, but never close to the solar plexus, as the Ruby has a disquieting effect upon it. In a ring wear it on your left hand.

The color of rubies varies from vermilion to red. The most desired color is “pigeon’s blood”, which is pure red with a hint of blue. If the color is too pink, the stone is a pink sapphire. The same is true if it is too violet – it is a violet sapphire. The best rubies and star rubies are bright red.

Birthstone:  July (December, ancient)
Zodiac:  Capricorn
Planet:  Sun (also Mars)
Chakra:  First Chakra – base of spine
Energies: Love, Healing

Review: Gillotte, Sacred Stones of the Goddess

Per usual, I am always studying crystals and stones whereupon I happened upon this blog, the review of a book which may of interest to those whom wish to learn more, as well. Happy reading & many blessings!

Works of Literata

Gillotte, Galen. Sacred Stones of the Goddess: using earth energies for magical living. Llewellyn, 2003. Paperback, 276 pages.

This book continues the enjoyable trend I’ve had lately of being able to recommend some of the books I review. For someone who wants to do magical work with stones or crystals, I would definitely recommend this book plus a reference guide. Then again, that may be because this isn’t actually a book about stones and crystals. This is a book about magic, and how to do it on oneself. The back cover description is pretty accurate, too. Part of it reads:

Make everyday magic come alive with the beautiful prose and invocations found in Sacred Stones of the Goddess. This one-of-a-kind guidebook incorporates crystals and semiprecious stones in talismanic magic, and includes guided meditations and prayers to the Goddess.

(blah blah stone energy blah) In talismanic magic, the stone serves…

Almanac For Tuesday 29 October 2013 – Mars

Tuesday 29 October 2013 – Mars

Moon phase – waning – 20% visible – Moon in Virgo at 03:44 GMT

Moon in Virgo

Attention towards details is on the increase, with a tendency to fault-finding, cleanliness and neatness. It is a good time to undertake routine, painstaking work, and to search for and correct errors. Your body may be more intolerant of low-grade food and harmful substances, and this is a good day to begin a diet.

In the body, Virgo is associated with the bowels and abdomen in general.

Lunar Day 25

Different traditions contradict each other about this day. Albert the Great considers it to be unfortunate, whilst Vronsky and Veda see it as auspicious for trips and travelling, trade and buying. Veda recommends that important affairs should be started on this day, but Globa believes everyone should be passive and contemplative.

Vronsky:

The day is good and beneficial for any kind of trips and travels, including those for business, as well as for moving house. It is also good for buying and selling, for litigation, but also for sleep and rest.

A child of this day will be a favourite of his own Fortune, good luck will follow him throughout the whole life. The one who falls ill on this day can die without a help from someone else.

Globa:

Symbol – vessels with live and dead water. A passive, contemplative day. It gives solitude and concentration on spiritual problems. One should cleanse their body from debris, listen to their inner voice. One could undertake a medical fasting. Hastiness is counterindicated. Clearhearing is a sign of slavish dependence on someone.

To Those I Follow On Twitter Please Read

You have noticed I am not around much these days..I’m preparing to go to stay with my daughter who is having her first child this Samhain! I think he will be a Halloween baby, still, his due date is actually 5 November – Guy Fawkes Day, yay!  What I’m actually saying is that I won’t be able to #FollowFriday each one of you any longer…it is not conducive to nappy changing or just holding the wee bairn.

I have set up a group on #Twitter named The Covenstead https://twitter.com/TheWitchesDaily/lists/the-covenstead.  I have added 16 people (only one of whom have subscribed as of yet) and will be adding several more.  If you still want an #FF each week, you can subscribe to the group and I’ll also check the Mentions/Interactions to those of you whom are so lovely about retweeting and just tweeting to me, so don’t worry, you’ll still get an #FF and thanks for RTs.

I really hate having to do it this way, however, I am going to be less available for the unforeseeable, still, I want to have contact with my bezzies 🙂  All of my Twitterites deserve praise and the old Follow Friday sort of helps do that but I hope you can understand and see that it just can’t keep going for over 500 people, especially whilst I’m away.  I’m really very sorry..

I hope those of you who do read this will subscribe and that way we can keep “in touch” a bit better 🙂  I really do love everyone of you, you know 🙂  Blessed be 🙂

Almanac For Wednesday 21 August 2013 – Mercury

Wednesday 21 August 2013 – Mercury

Moon phase – Full – Moon in Pisces

Full Moon – Full Moon begins at 02:44 BST

A period of excess when everything in nature brims over. Emotions, psychic energy, physiological activity – everything is at its maximum. This is the time of increased creativity, but with those who are prone to high blood pressure, epilepsy or over excitement, this Full Moon period can be problematic.

Moon in Pisces

This brings an increase of emotions and a receptivity to other peoples’ feelings. You will have a desire to be of help, and you may be willing to sacrifice something for the sake of others. Your emotions predominate over common sense, so it is better to do things which require imagination and inspiration, rather than reason and cool logic. Your body may be more responsive than usual to alcohol, drugs and medicines, so beware of overdoses. Poor quality food could also give you a touch of food poisoning.

The sign of Pisces is associated with the feet and lymphatic system.

Lunar Day 16

An auspicious day, especially for trade, travelling and any occupations connected to land, property and animals. It is considered to be the best day for selling animals. Also good for celebrations, parties and festivities.

Vronsky:

A good day for traveling, it is also successful for selling animals. A child born on this day will most likely have a strong health and a long fruitful life. As a rule, all the dreams are valid but they require a proper interpretation.

Globa:

The symbol is butterfly. One of the “clean” days. Marked with harmony, equilibrium, justice. One should keep inner comfort, be confident in everything. Forbidden are shouting, unceremonious behaviour, evilness, envy. Sex is counterindicated. Eating animal food and mushrooms is not recommended. One must not kill birds. Dirt on the clothes is a sign of spiritual uncleanliness.

PEDOPHILE SYMBOLS AND CODES: An Update

A trusted friend pointed me in the direction of an abomination she became aware of that was posting about child abuse on a scam Facebook page. If I’m honest, I couldn’t bring myself to go to the page, particularly when I received the warning that it was not a true Facebook page, however, the link to this blog was directly underneath the warning. I trust WordPress, therefore, I pasted the link in my browser which took me to this blog. It is 100% informative and caring and I truly commend them for what they are doing. If you visit their blog, please like them and bookmark their blog, particularly if you have children of vulnerable years.

The reason for my friend directing me to the other site was a lot to do with the fact that paedophiles are using #Pagan / #Wiccan sigils or symbols in order to “identify” themselves online. This is a proper travesty, but then, what can we expect? What they DO is even a more proper travesty, but then to link themselves with the good Pagan people of this World makes it harder for us to be accepted. Before you get upset, I would feel exactly the same if paedos were using Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, or any other symbology pertaining to any religion or creed. And, perhaps they do, we just haven’t spotted it yet. I would fully expect any religion to be hacked off at this disrespect to their beliefs. Believe you me, I would be hacked off FOR them, as well!

Paedophilia has touched almost everyone’s lives in some way or another. Whether it were online predators or a family member or friend….we’ve all had it in our lives in some respect. So, please give “The Ultimate Evil” your support for what they do for the safety of our most precious and vulnerable people….our children. Blessed be.

The Ultimate Evil

UPDATE: I was sent a link this morning to a blog featuring this article, and it is now apparent to me where the majority of the angry comments from Asatru folk and Odinists are originating. This blog( http://kernelmag.dailydot.com/features/report/7582/revealed-the-secret-symbols-used-by-child-sex-offenders/# )   purposefully misrepresents the Valknut by stating: “The ‘Wiccan triple knot’ is a well-known paedophile call sign.”  I have written to the Editor of the site and requested a retraction, removal of the image, or at the least a removal of any reference to my site. Please, feel free to send your complaints over this travesty to the Editor of that website: editorial@kernelmag.com . They do not allow comments on their website and request letters to the editor, instead.  http://kernelmag.dailydot.com/comment-policy/

NOTICE: I regret that so many of my pagan brothers and sisters have been led to believe this post is for the purpose of attacking pagans…
